Nata
Indian Classical Raga
Nata (Naatai) is a janya raga of the 36th melakarta Chalanata in Carnatic music. It is a sampurna-audava raga, using all seven notes in the ascent and five in the descent, and is one of the five ancient Ghana ragas. It carries veera rasa, with bhakti and vatsalya as secondary moods, and is considered highly auspicious. It is traditionally used to open a concert, often in compositions honouring Ganesha.
