Sanmugapriya
Indian Classical Raga
Shanmukhapriya is a raga in Carnatic music, the 56th melakarta raga in the 72 melakarta system, belonging to the tenth chakra, Disi. It is associated with bhakti, or devotion, and composers have used it for devotional kritis such as Muthuswami Dikshitar's Siddhi Vinayakam and Papanasam Sivan's Parvathi Nayakane. It is a sarvakalika raga, meaning it can be sung at any time of day.
