Indian Classical Raga
Saurashtra is a janya raga of the 17th melakarta Suryakantam. It is a vakra raga, moving through the scale in a zigzag path in both ascent and descent. Saurashtra carries bhakti and veera rasas and is closely associated with the mangalam, the piece that closes a Carnatic concert.
