Suvarnangi

Suvarnangi is the 47th melakarta raga in the Carnatic 72 melakarta system, the fifth raga of the Vasu chakra. Its name means "the golden bodied one," and it is known as Souveeram in the Muthuswami Dikshitar school. Muthuswami Dikshitar's composition "Sarasa Souveera" is set in this raga.
