Vagadisvari
Indian Classical Raga
Vagadheeswari is the 34th melakarta raga in the Carnatic 72 melakarta system, the fourth raga of the Rutu chakra. It is a sampoorna raga using the prati madhyamam swara among its notes, and is the shuddha madhyamam equivalent of Nasikabhooshani, the 70th melakarta. Compositions in this raga include works by Muthuswami Dikshitar and Tyagaraja, and it has also been used in Tamil film music.
