The Indian Institute of World Culture was founded on 11 August 1945 in Basavanagudi, Bengaluru, by B. P. Wadia and Sophia Wadia, with the aim of fostering a cosmopolitan spirit through the study of world cultures. It hosts lectures, publications and cultural programmes spanning art, philosophy and classical music, including Carnatic and Hindustani concerts and Bharatanatyam performances.
