About

Sree Ramaseva Mandali was founded in 1939 by S. V. Narayanaswamy Rao, then aged 14, and is based in Chamarajpet, Bengaluru. It runs the annual Ramanavami music festival, a month-long Carnatic and Hindustani classical music series held March–April at the Old Fort High School grounds, drawing several hundred artists and large audiences. Rajagopalachari referred to it as the "Temple of Music." S. N. Varadaraj, the founder's son, has led the trust as General Secretary since his father's death in 2000. It is a registered cultural trust with FCRA licensing, and also runs an adopted school and cultural centres.
