Devagandhari
Indian Classical Raga
Devagandhari is a janya raga of the 29th melakarta Shankarabharanam in Carnatic music. It is an audava-vakra-sampurna raga, with five notes in the ascent and a full, zigzag descent that uses an extended gandharam and, at points, kaishika nishadam, making it bhashanga. It is also used in the Sikh tradition, where it appears as the twenty-first raga in the Guru Granth Sahib. It carries a prayerful, devotional character.
