Jhalavarali

Jhalavarali is the 39th melakarta raga in the Carnatic 72 melakarta system, the third raga of the Rishi chakra. It is a sampoorna raga containing all seven notes in ascending and descending scales. Tyagaraja's composition "Namami Sri Rama" is set in this raga. Among its janya ragas, Varali is more widely performed than the melakarta itself.
