Kalakanti (kalaakaanti) is a janya raga of the 13th melakarta Gayakapriya in Carnatic music. Its ascending scale runs S R1 G3 M1 D1 N1 S, omitting panchamam, and the descending scale S N1 D1 P M1 G3 R1 S brings panchamam back. It is used for the Tyaagaraaja kriti shree janaka tanayE.
