Surati
Indian Classical Raga
Surati, also called Surutti, is a janya raga of the 28th melakarta Harikambhoji. It is a vakra raga, moving through the scale in a zigzag path, with seven notes in ascent and nine in descent. Surati carries bhakti rasa and, as is typical of such ragas in Carnatic practice, may be sung at any time of day.
