Karnaranjani

Karnaranjani is a janya raga of Kharaharapriya, the 22nd melakarta. Its name means pleasant to the ears. It uses a vakra (zig-zag) phrase Ga Ma Ga Pa in the ascent, with nishadam omitted from the ascending scale as a chhaya phrase. It was created by Harikesanallur Muthiah Bhagavathar.
