Karnatakakapi
Indian Classical Raga
Karnataka Kapi is the old form of the Carnatic raga Kapi, grouped as an upanga janya under Kharaharapriya, the 22nd melakarta. It differs from the modern bhashanga Kapi, which uses the anya swaras antara gandhara, shuddha dhaivata and kakali nishada. Compositions in this raga include Tyagaraja's 'Cuta murare' and Syama Sastri's 'Akhilandesvari'.
