Mukhari
Indian Classical Raga
Mukhari is a janya raga of the 22nd melakarta Kharaharapriya. It is a heavy, introspective raga often described as sorrowful, though it also carries bhakti and shanta rasas. It is best rendered at a slow tempo with each note and gamaka clearly enunciated, and is traditionally sung in the afternoon.
