Todi

Todi, also known as Hanumatodi, is the 8th melakarta raga in the 72 melakarta system of Carnatic music. It is regarded as a rakti raga valued for its emotional depth and is considered demanding to render correctly because of its intricate phrases. In the Muthuswami Dikshitar school it is called Janatodi. Carnatic Todi is a different raga from the Hindustani raga of the same name.
